The 50s was a period in music that had a major impact on the music industry. The music and the songs that came out of it set the music industry up for the next decades.
The music and the songs came out during the 50s from groups that were popular at the time. Two very popular groups were Junior Parker and his Littleologist group, and Elvis Presley and his Sun Records. These two groups were known for their rockabilly style and their music had a major impact on the next generation of rock and roll.
Of course, Elvis and Johnny Cash had a huge impact on the rockabilly genre and Cash is generally considered the king of rockabilly. His style had a strong blues and rock and roll flavor to it and it became extremely popular. Back in the day, Cash would do street corners and he became very famous for his dance moves. He really set the execution for future rockers and that’s one reason Johnny Cash is considered king of rock and roll.
Of course, Elvis had a huge impact on the rock and roll genre and he died at a very young age. He is sometimes thought of as the first half of rock and roll because he introduced the “lightweight” style of guitar playing that we frequently see in rock today.
The 50s was also the year for the “British Invasion” as bands from the UK were really the ones that started the rockabilly craze. The UK had a lot of bands influenced by the American bands and of course, Elvis started a whole new genre of rock and roll. The USA also had its share of bands and groups that were very influenced by what was going on in the 50s. Some of these bands also had a few albums that really showed the influence of rockabilly too.
The 50s was also the year that tape recorders entered the picture and became readily available to the American bands. It was a lot of hassle to record these sessions on tape because you had to have a special device (a “tape needle” or “doodle”) that made contact with the tape. Also, most recording devices would have a characteristic sound that was created by the particular brand of tape that was used. Therefore, identifying the brand of tape that you use is not that easy. However, most bands eventually got used to the sound of tape and that’s what they wanted.
Of course, with the success of rock and roll, the music industry was interested in finding artists that could create soundtracks for films or TV shows and so, the hunt for Elvis Presley Presley DVD s was born.
Elvis had a strong ” cult” following when he was still alive (part of the reason for the memorial pictures being so famous even today). There were thousands of people who searched for “Elvis finders” and it was easy to lump these people together in an industry that was, at the time, EXACTLYLY 50 years ago. Let’s go back a bit further, to the 40’s and 50’s, when the music industry was dipping its toes into theggy classicrockabilly waters.
Suits, ties, and the whole nine yards. The suits were all out in force and everyone wanted a piece of the rockabilly treasure that was going to be this guy. After all, if anyone had ever seen these people playing, they were obviously doing something right! The suits were ineffectual, though. A few companies started to make solid instruments (legs, patio pianos, and upright pianos) and the price came down. Eventually, though, someone found the combining recipe that worked.
The same thing happened in the early 60s when the rockabilly craze finally started to feverishly sweep the nation. The suits were gone; Instead, young men competed to build the “perfect” electric guitar. And the result was electric guitar envy. The luridly colored “deserted” guitars sat, unfinished and useless, in the stands and closets of men who simply wanted to look cool. And these “lookers” actually played “eton” really well, because the suit helped inhibit the flair for fine performance and laundry list of visual accomplishments.
And we all know that doesn’t work! That doesn’t mean you can’t create a fine performance, but just don’t go so far as to obscure the intent of the music.
